PM Celebrates Youth Talent with E1000 Gift to Troupe

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Christmas came early for the Ngculwini Culture Troupe after His Excellency the Prime Minister presented E1000 to the Ngculwini traditional performers during the End of Year National Crime and Road Accident Prevention Campaign 2025 at Ngculwini Sport Ground, recognising their talent and celebrating the season of giving.

The donation came after the young performers delivered a colourful and energetic display of Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage, captivating the crowd with their talent and dedication.

The troupe, known as the Ngculwini Sibhaca Group, consists of very young Emaswati, demonstrating that the country’s traditions are being instilled in children from an early age. Leading the performance was six-year-old Ntando Nkonyane, whose leadership and stage presence impressed attendees and highlighted the role of the youth in preserving Eswatini’s culture for future generations.

Following their performance, the Prime Minister personally presented E1000 to the group as a Christmas gift, adding to other contributions the troupe had received. The donation underscores the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that celebrate and nurture the nation’s cultural heritage.

Speaking after receiving the gift, young Ntando Nkonyane expressed his excitement, saying, “I am very grateful to the Prime Minister for this gift. This is a very special December for me, and I will always remember this day.”

The event formed part of the broader End of Year National Crime and Road Accident Prevention Campaign, which brings together communities, public officials, and law enforcement to promote safety and social cohesion. By recognising and rewarding the Ngculwini Culture Troupe, the campaign also highlighted the importance of celebrating local talent and ensuring that cultural traditions continue to thrive among the younger generation.

The Prime Minister’s gesture reflects a spirit of giving while reinforcing the value of culture and youth engagement as pillars of Eswatini’s social and community development.
