Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini laid out a hopeful vision for Eswatini’s future, reflecting on a year defined by economic recovery and a push for national unity.

Speaking from the Cabinet Offices during a year end press conference, the Premier described 2025 as a period of turning promises into action, specifically following the mandates set out during the 2023 Sibaya.

Economic Momentum and Real Results

The PM reported that the nation’s economy is showing real signs of life, with GDP growth hitting 3.4 percent.

This momentum has been fueled by a surge of activity in the mining, energy, and manufacturing sectors. Perhaps most notably, a national Investment Conference held this year drew in over E30 billion in commitments, a clear sign that international investors are regaining confidence in the Kingdom’s potential.

Strengthening the Foundation

Beyond the balance sheets, the government has focused on the essential services that impact daily life for emaSwati:

Infrastructure: Major work is underway to modernize the power grid, expand electricity to rural areas, and improve water and transport networks.

Agriculture: To boost food security, the government has increased support for farmers through better financing and more machinery.

Healthcare & Schooling: Progress was noted in the rollout of a new competency-based school curriculum and the purchase of modern medical equipment for national clinics.

Social Safety Nets: Programs for senior citizens, the youth, and people living with disabilities were expanded to ensure no one is left behind during this transition.

Leadership on the Global Stage

Eswatini also found a stronger voice abroad this year. By taking on leadership roles within SADC and the African Union, the country has been able to better advocate for its interests in global trade and diplomacy, opening new doors for development and peacebuilding.

A Call for Integrity and Unity

Looking inward, Prime Minister was firm on the need for “Nkwe” (swift action) and honest governance. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, stating that transparency and the rule of law are non-negotiable for the country’s success.

“Meaningful progress is being made despite global and domestic challenges, ” said Dlamini

As the nation prepares for the sacred Incwala ceremony, the Prime Minister urged all citizens to remain patriotic and united. He expressed deep confidence that the foundation laid in 2025 will lead to even greater opportunities when the new year begins.
