Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) recorded a strong revenue performance in the 2024/25 financial year, collecting E14.612 billion and exceeding its target.

This marked a 12.2% year-on-year growth, reinforcing ERS’ role as a key pillar of national development.

Board Chairperson David Dlamini said the performance demonstrated institutional resilience and staff commitment.

“The organisation again exceeded its revenue target, managing to collect E14.612 billion,” he said.

The report shows VAT and Personal Income Tax remained the largest contributors, jointly accounting for nearly 70% of domestic revenue. Revenue growth outpaced economic growth, pushing the tax-to-GDP ratio to 16.7%, up from 15.9%.

Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule said the results were driven by efficiency rather than pressure.

“This performance was supported by targeted revenue mobilisation initiatives and client-centric service innovations,” he said.

The increased revenue strengthens government capacity to fund public services while reducing reliance on external support. ERS also achieved this while lowering its cost of collection, confirming improved operational discipline.

As ERS continues implementing its 2024–2027 strategy, the 2024/25 results position the institution as a reliable anchor of fiscal sustainability in Eswatini.
