Africa-Press – Eswatini. Siphocosini High School, situated on the outskirts of Mbabane, has once again proven that excellence knows no geographical boundaries.

Over the years, the school has produced learners who have gone on to become respected professionals across Eswatini. This year, however, it has raised the bar even higher by producing one of the country’s top-performing Form 5 learners.

Eighteen-year-old Lindelwa Lindokuhle Sihlongonyane has emerged as one of Eswatini’s brightest academic stars after achieving outstanding results in the 2025 Form 5 examinations. A learner at Siphocosini High School, Sihlongonyane was officially announced as one of the country’s top achievers by the Minister of Education and Training, Hon. Owen Nxumalo, during the release of the results on Friday, 6 February 2026.

The Minister revealed that Sihlongonyane was among nine learners nationally who attained first position in the examinations, a remarkable achievement that has brought pride not only to her school but also to the Siphocosini Inkhundla and the wider community.

Her results speak for themselves. Sihlongonyane obtained six A*s and two As in a demanding range of subjects, including Mathematics, English, siSwati, ICT, Physical Science, Religious Education, Accounts and Biology. Her academic excellence reflects discipline, dedication and an unwavering commitment to success.

Speaking to Eswatini Positive News, the high-achieving learner attributed her success primarily to faith and discipline. “Prayer sustained me throughout my journey. I thank God because He was always on my side,” she said. She added that she made sure to give herself adequate time to study and revise consistently.

Sihlongonyane also paid tribute to her teachers at Siphocosini High School, describing them as supportive and approachable. She said the strong relationship between educators and learners created an environment that encouraged academic excellence. “My teachers were always willing to help us, and that made a big difference,” she noted. She said the school was a great school, hence she believed that she could compete nationally from the school, as she also did well in Form 3.

She further acknowledged the crucial role played by her parents, guardians and peers within her community, saying their encouragement motivated her to aim higher and remain focused on her goals.

The genius also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister of Health and Siphocosini Member of Parliament, Hon. Mduduzi Matsebula, who honoured her achievement by presenting her with a laptop on the same day the results were announced. She said the MP’s gesture and words of encouragement inspired her and other learners to take their education seriously.

Looking ahead, Sihlongonyane has ambitious plans for her future. She hopes to enrol at Waterford Kamhlaba United World College, where she intends to pursue an A-Level Post-Graduate Certificate, which would enable her to apply to international universities. Her ultimate career goal is to become a health practitioner specialising in cardiology, with a particular interest in heart surgery.

Although she once considered a career in pharmaceutical research, she said limited local support led her to redirect her focus. Nevertheless, she remains optimistic, believing that with the right opportunities and support, her dreams are achievable.

Beyond her personal ambitions, Sihlongonyane is already looking for ways to give back. She revealed plans to offer tutorial support to fellow learners, mainly through digital platforms. “We are working on a website called Epiclass, where I will post videos explaining Mathematics topics and tips on improving English essay writing,” she said. She also plans to offer paid tutoring to learners around Siphocosini.

As advice to fellow students, the top performer urged them to remain focused, make full use of their teachers and never lose sight of their goals. “Education requires discipline and commitment. If you stay focused, success will follow,” she said.

Sihlongonyane’s achievement stands as a powerful reminder that with determination, support and faith, learners from any background can rise to national prominence.
