Army Spokesperson Addresses Mbuluzi Training Delay

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Major Sandile Gwebu, the Army Spokesperson who ran to the State owned Radio Station to dismiss an article published suggesting that, training at Mbuluzi won’t commence in January 2026 as earlier announced by Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze, has finally decided to speak the truth, urging recruits to be patient.

Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze when touring the various Tinkhundla Centres during the beginning of the recruitment last year, lied and told the media that training will commence in January 2026

But this publication, after receiving information from Government sources, reported that training won’t commence in January 2026 as the Army Commander did not consult the Ministry of Public Service for a budget before the recruitment, the King approved the recruitment and the Army Commander was then expected to administratively implement the royal order by engaging the Ministry of Public Service.

But after denying the story published in January, on Tuesday (17th March 2026) Army Spokesperson Sandile Gwebu told a State controlled online publication that, training “hasn’t commenced at Mbuluzi”.

The training is highly expected to commence in April 2026 or soon thereafter after the approval of the National Budget debated by Members of Parliament (MPs).

On another note, editor Zweli Martin Dlamini described the latest confirmation by the Army Spokesperson as a “Public Relations” blunder.

“A PRO who consistently denies while dismissing media reports that are subsequently proven true, might lose credibility and/or public trust,” said the editor.

It is alleged that, Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze is now under pressure from emaSwati who bribed him for jobs in the Army.
