Africa-Press – Eswatini. Thirty-year-old Mfanufikile Dlamini has received a newly built home through a partnership between the Mohammed Foundation and Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla, marking a significant milestone in his journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.

Mfanufikile, who lives with autism, has faced numerous challenges throughout his life. After being abandoned by his mother at a young age, he lost both his father and grandmother, leaving him to live alone in Tiyeni KaLamgabhi.

Unable to complete his schooling, he has relied on piece jobs to survive, with the support of his neighbour, Thuli Vilakati, who has helped care for him over the years.

The Mohammed Foundation, represented by Chairman Sayed Dlamini, officially handed over the house during a ceremony attended by community members, local leaders, and representatives of government. In addition to the house, the Foundation donated food hampers and blankets to Mfanufikile, Thuli Vilakati, and other vulnerable members of the community.

Chairman Dlamini highlighted that the construction of Mfanufikile’s home was part of the Foundation’s Ramadan outreach initiative, during which two homes were completed for vulnerable individuals in the region.

“I would like to thank His Majesty King Mswati III for this initiative and for allowing us to play a part in supporting communities. I also extend my sincere gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for welcoming us with open arms and making it possible for us to work together and assist where we can,” said Dlamini.

Speaking at the handover, Mfanufikile expressed heartfeltgratitude for the support he has received.

“I want to thank the Foundation, the Deputy Prime Minister and her team, and Gogo Thuli for standing by me despite our limited resources. I also thank my community members who supported me from the start of the construction until the end,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla commended the Mohammed Foundation for their commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable citizens. She noted that such initiatives strengthen the long-standing relationship between Eswatini and Morocco and foster unity across different religious and cultural groups.

“We are grateful for the Foundation’s efforts during the holy month of Ramadan. Their work reflects the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and community development. Mfanufikile will also receive further support, including fencing to start farming and a proper lavatory, to improve his living conditions,” said Dladla.

The project demonstrates the power of partnerships between government and community-based organizations in addressing the needs of vulnerable citizens.

By providing shelter, basic necessities, and ongoing support, initiatives like this not only improve living conditions but also restore hope and dignity to those facing hardship.

Mfanufikile’s new home stands as a testament to what can be achieved when compassion, collaboration, and community engagement come together to support the most vulnerable members of society.
