Standard Bank Eswatini Invests E2.355 Million in Development

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Standard Bank Eswatini has donated a total of E2 355 000 in corporate social investment and sponsorship support aimed at strengthening healthcare services, promoting investment, and supporting cultural development across the country.

The handover took place on April 17, 2026 at the bank’s boardroom in Mbabane, with funds distributed to Good Shepherd Hospital (E1.5 million), Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority – EIPA (E500 000), and Eswatini Choral Society (E355 000).

Standard Bank Eswatini Chief Executive, Mvuselelo Fakudze, said the Bank remains committed to investing in key sectors that drive national development, noting that healthcare, investment promotion, and culture all play an important role in building a stronger Eswatini.

“Whether in healthcare, investment promotion, or culture, we continue to invest where we see real impact and where we can help strengthen the lives of our people and the future of Eswatini,” he said.

Good Shepherd Catholic Hospital CEO, Muzi Dlamini, expressed appreciation for the E1.5 million support, saying it comes at a critical time for the facility. He said the hospital’s Kids Ward has been closed for three years, making it difficult to fully meet the demand for paediatric services, and noted that the institution is currently attending to over 200 children per week in Siteki under challenging conditions.

“This support is a game-changer for us. The funding will go directly toward refurbishing the Kids Ward so that children receive proper and dignified care in a modern environment,” he said.

Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) CEO, Sibani Mngomezulu, also welcomed the E500 000 sponsorship towards the upcoming Eswatini Investment Conference scheduled for June 29–30, 2026, saying it comes at a crucial time as preparations intensify.

He said the support strengthens efforts to position Eswatini as an attractive investment destination and will contribute to the success of the conference, which aims to attract high-impact investors and promote economic growth.

“This contribution is highly appreciated. It strengthens our mission to attract investment and showcase the economic potential of the Kingdom,” he said.

Eswatini National Choral Music Association (ENCMA) President, Sihle Gumbi, thanked Standard Bank Eswatini for its continued support of choral music development, saying the Bank’s contribution has played a key role in sustaining and growing choral competitions in the country.

“Standard Bank Eswatini’s support over the past years has been the backbone of choral music competitions in the country. We truly appreciate this commitment, which continues to uplift and preserve our cultural heritage through music,” he said.

The three contributions form part of the bank structured Corporate Social Investment strategy focused on delivering measurable impact in health, economic development, and culture, reaffirming its commitment to continue supporting initiatives that uplift communities and contribute to the country’s long-term development.
