Africa-Press – Eswatini. Excitement is building ahead of the Ingwenyama Cup Women’s semi-finals set for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Lobamba Technical Centre, where four top teams will compete for a place in the final scheduled for May 03, 2026, at Somhlolo National Stadium.
The semi-final fixtures will see Manzini Wanderers FC take on AS Interladies FC at 1200hrs, followed by Nsingizini Hotspurs FC facing Young Buffaloes FC at 1400hrs, in what are expected to be highly competitive encounters.
Chairperson of the Management Committee, Dr Comfort Shongwe, said all matches played so far have gone well, reflecting improved organisation and the growing competitiveness of women’s football in the country. He encouraged the public to attend the matches and continue supporting the tournament.
Dr Shongwe highlighted that the competition has provided a vital platform for female athletes to showcase their talent while contributing to the development and visibility of women’s football in Eswatini. He noted that the discipline, skill and determination displayed by the teams throughout the tournament have been commendable.
He further called on football lovers, families and communities to come out in large numbers to support the semi-final clashes, emphasising that spectator presence plays an important role in motivating players and enhancing the atmosphere of the games.
Meanwhile, anticipation continues to rise among supporters, with expectations of thrilling performances as teams battle for a place in the final. The matches are expected to deliver tactical intensity, resilience and passion as each side fights to move one step closer to lifting the prestigious Ingwenyama Cup.
