Africa-Press – Eswatini. YOUNG Buffaloes Ladies striker Celiwe ‘Cece’ Nkambule displayed goal-scoring instincts that would shame a lion that has gone days without a meal.
Nkambule was the toast of the newly- crowned champions during the 2021/2022 Women Football league prize presentation ceremony after netting mind-blowing 76 goals to be crowned the goal queen of the past season’s campaign.
The former Manzini Wanderers player previously scored 84 goals in the same league three seasons ago for the army side.
She was confirmed the top goal scorer during the ceremony held at Sigwaca House on Tuesday, earning E600 for her efforts.
It does not end there as the pacey Sitsebe Samhlekazi striker further took home E2 000 for being November’s best player, taking her earnings to E2 600.
She was at her element in the past season, scoring crucial goals to help Buffaloes win the women league title.
Other individual winners were Lindiwe Dlamini (Manzini Wanderers), Eunice Mbuli (Royal Leopard), Diniel Cuta (Buffaloes) and Simangele Sikhondze who is doing duty for Elangeni, to mention only a few. Speaking after the presentation ceremony, Nkambule said she was very happy to be the recipient of both awards.
“I am very happy and I would like to thank my team for the support because without them I would not have been awarded with such prizes. It was team effort that helped us to achieve this amazing feat today,” she said.
Nkambule also promised that her team would represent the country well in the CAF Champions League next month, further thanking Eswatini Football Association (EFA), Women Football Association, sponsors, and teams for their support.
