Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Highlanders forward Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa is the 2021/22 MTN Premier League Player of the Season.
The game-a-goal striker, who scored 23 league goals in the past season, beat Royal Leopard crafty playmaker Junior Magagula and goal poacher Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze to football’s biggest individual prize.
‘Sikhali’ was presented with the ultimate prize in a glamorous event held at Esangweni Hall, Esibayeni Lodge, in Matsapha.
“It was a team effort from the beginning of the season and without my teammates I could not have achieved it,” the forward said.
Royal Leopard and Seven Dreams were officially crowned champions of the MTN Premier League and MTN National First Division, respectively. Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko represented the minister of sports, culture and youth affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga in the event that was attended by the who is who of football. Young Buffaloes striker Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze was officially crowned the MTN Premier League top goal scorer after netting a remarkable 26 goals while Mbabane Highlanders’ Khanyakwezwe Shabalala deservedly won the goalkeeper of the season after keeping 16 clean sheets in the past season.
