ACC Seeks Supreme Court Approval to Arrest Ashraff

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) has approached the Supreme Court seeking an order overturning a judgement delivered by Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala who protected his alleged friend SwaziPharm Director Kareem Ashraff.

The politically connected businessman of Indonesian origin is facing arrest for allegedly stealing about R1billion taxpayers money, the money was budgeted to purchase drugs in public hospitals amid worsening health crisis in the tiny Southern African Kingdom.

But Chief Justice Maphalala dismissed the warrant of arrest application, the ACC and Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) has approached the Supreme Court.

On another note, dozens of emaSwati have died since the health crisis erupted triggered by rampant corruption in the public administration.
