Africa-Press – Eswatini. Ubombo Sugar Football Club has announced the appointment of Van-Rooyen Magagula as the new Caretaker Head Coach, following the departure of Gcina Dlamini, who has been at the helm for the past two seasons.
In an official statement released by the Chairman’s office, the club confirmed that Dlamini’s exit was reached through mutual agreement.
“Following mutual discussions, Ubombo Sugar FC and Head Coach Gcina Dlamini have amicably agreed to part ways. The club sincerely thanks Coach Dlamini for his commitment and service to the team and wishes him every success in his future endeavors,” read the statement.
During his two-year tenure, Dlamini played a key role in guiding #BafanaBashukela through a period of rebuilding, instilling discipline and structure within the squad.
To ensure continuity, the club has appointed Van-Rooyen Magagula to lead an Interim Technical Team. He will be assisted by Sihle Mavimbela, Themba Nkambule, and Mandla Vilakati, each tasked with specific coaching responsibilities.
“The team will be led by Mr. Van-Rooyen Magagula as Caretaker Head Coach, assisted by Sihle Mavimbela, Themba Nkambule, and Mandla Vilakati, each entrusted with specific coaching responsibilities,” the statement continued.
The club emphasized that this is a temporary arrangement as they assess long-term technical options.
“This interim arrangement will remain in place while the club evaluates long-term technical options. We are confident in the team’s ability to maintain focus and drive as we continue our journey this season,” concluded the statement.
Dlamini leaves behind a solid foundation, and Magagula’s appointment signals a fresh chapter for Ubombo Sugar FC as they aim to build momentum and consistency for the remainder of the campaign.
