Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Thing are not so rosy at capital city giants Mbabane Swallows as players have been left in the dark since the conclusion of the 2020\/21 MTN Premier League.<\/b><\/p>\n

Reports suggest coming from the team\u2019s camp suggest that the players and technical staff have not received their salaries for last month. The pay day for the staff is between 28-30 of every month.<\/p>\n

However, nothing has been communicated to the players in terms of their pending salaries.<\/p>\n

Amid the internal problems in the club, frustration has taken its toll amongst the players such that some of them are now contemplating seeking greener pastures.<\/p>\n

It must be mentioned that, about 80 per cent of the players are now free agents after their contracts elapsed at the end of last season.<\/p>\n

The out of contract players are Njabulo \u2018D4D\u2019 Ndlovu, Banele \u2018Pupu\u2019 Sikhondze, Richard McCreesh, Kingu Pemba, Kingsley Kwayki, Sandile Hlatshwako,Vukile Khumalo and Sizolwethu \u2018Nunu\u2019 Shabalala, to mention a few.<\/p>\n

Coaches Musa Manyatsi, Etteine Massoye and Maxwell Ramelho\u2019s contracts have also elapsed.<\/p>\n

The capital city giants are also racing against time to begin pre-season camp as most elite league teams resumed their training programmes recently.<\/p>\n

A source within the Birds nest revealed that players and coaches are worried about the current situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is extremely worrying in the club. No monthly salaries, contracts for players and as I\u2019m speaking Swallows is the only team that hasn\u2019t started preparations for the 2022\/23 season. No one has addressed the players. The Elders are expected to meet the president before the end of the week to find a way forward,\u201d said the source.<\/p>\n

No immediate comment could be obtained from the club\u2019s President, Archbishop Bheki Lukhele.<\/p>\n

Swallows Council of Elders Chairman Absalom Ngwenya said he could not comment until after their meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will be in a better position to say something about issues of the team after our meeting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The red and white outfit missed the CAF Confederation Cup spot after they finished in third position in the MTN Premier League standings.<\/p>\n
