Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Newly elected Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Nomalungelo Ntombi Simelane has promised to, at all times, bow and be faithful to His Majesty King Mswati.<\/p>\n

The new MP known as LaZwide was sworn-in on Thursday by Clerk to Parliament Benedict Xaba who was leading her when taking the oath of office.<\/p>\n

\u201cMine Nomalungelo Ntombi Simelane, ngiyafunga ngitsi, ngitakwetsembeka, futsi ngiyikhotsamele iNkhosi Mswati wesitsatfu, tindlalifa tayo, kunye nalabayobusa emvakwayo, kulandzela umtsetfo, iNkhosi ingisite(meaning: I,Nomalungelo Ntombi Simelane,do hereby swear that I will always bow and be faithful to King Mswati, his heirs and successors )\u201d,said the new MP when taking an oath of office.<\/p>\n

After being elected, all MPs in eSwatini are expected to be faithful to King Mswati, an absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers.<\/p>\n

The oath of office doesn’t mention anything about serving the people. MP Nomalungelo Simelane replaces her husband Mduduzi \u2018Magawugawu\u2019 Simelane who was ousted for demanding democratic reforms inside Parliament.<\/p>\n
