Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Marydee Isibuko Serenity Foundation (MISF) will be hosting a fundraising gala dinner on August 27 at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini.<\/b><\/p>\n

MISF Founder and President Dudu Dube said the fundraising dinner was aimed at helping them get funds for the organisation\u2019s strategic goal, which is to expand to 100 communities in the next three years, starting from September 2022 to August 2025 and implement all three of their programmes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also seeking for funds to purchase and secure a mobile office structure, which will be installed at Elangeni area.<\/p>\n

It is for this reason that MISF is hosting the fundraising gala dinner event, seeking funds and sponsors, inviting corporates, communities, individuals and the public at large to partner with the organisation in resource mobilisation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Challenges<\/b><\/p>\n

Dube mentioned that those who would attend the dinner would gain so much from the speakers on Agribusiness, Ending Gender Based Violence by Raising a Responsible Boy Child through instilling the right values and dealing with the social challenges in the boy child, Living a Purpose Driven Life and taking care of you as an entrepreneur.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the event, we will also have six speakers and these are NERCHA National Director Khanya Mabuza, Eswatini Railway Commercial Coordinator Thokozani Dlamini, Woman Farmer of the Year 2013 winner, Community Development Specialist Khabo Dlamini and Training and Development Manager at Khuba Traders Dumsile Phiri,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that other speakers included Founder of Pastors wives Dinner Discussions and Women Empowerment Motivational Speaker Mpumi Motsa and Beauty Specialist, South African businesswoman and founder of Kiki Beauty Studio Kiki Seitisho.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a virtual presentation by Dr. Carolyne Opinde from the United Kingdom who is an award winning global consultant, social innovator, founder and CEO of The NGO Whisperer\u2122 providing technical support to Non-Profit Organisations in Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean who will speak briefly on the Role of Local Communities in Sustainable Development,\u201d added Dube.<\/p>\n

She mentioned that MISF was a volunteer-driven registered non-profit organisation, which engages, empowers, builds, develops and connects the society locally and globally and its main goal was to empower disadvantaged women and vulnerable girls, while raising responsible boys in society.<\/p>\n

Mentoring<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will achieve this by implementing the three relevant programmes in all 59 constituencies in the Kingdom of Eswatini,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She mentioned that the three programmes were Essence of Sisterhood Entrepreneurship Programme, which focuses on women and girls teaching them agricultural and environmental businesses, leadership and mentorship, the Boy Child Big Brother Club Mentorship Programme, which is for mentoring boys and the Psychological Well-being Clinic Programme.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past years, the foundation has been implementing the Essence of Sisterhood Entrepreneurship Programme in various communities. The organisation started with six groups with at least 10 to 15 women and girls per community, and these communities included Mhlane which was a pilot project,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Dube said the organisation successfully secured three grants from the United States of America Embassy and MISF had conducted many agribusiness trainings in partnership with NAMBoard and UNESWA Centre for Community Services, which had benefited unemployed women and girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cMbulazi Nursery has been our consistent sponsor, providing seedlings to MISF women since 2018,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said through the boys programme, the organisation was mentoring young boys aged 10 to 25 years and they intend to inculcate integrity and responsibility culture into boy child, thus moulding behaviour and improving their livelihood, address social, sexual, psychological and health issues that a boy child goes through.<\/p>\n
