Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>ANTIDOTE Music presents their first project under newly formed Antidote Culture Foundation.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was revealed by Antidote\u2019s Mmely Hlanze yesterday.<\/p>\n

Hlanze shared that Antidote Music and Antidote Culture Foundation in partnership with the Music In Africa Foundation, would present the Vukubone Music Conference 2022.<\/p>\n

The conference was developed as part of the Music In Africa Live programme, which is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, Siemens Stiftung and Goethe-Institute.<\/p>\n

He said Vukubone was a series of panel discussions and a master class featuring thought leaders in Eswatini\u2019s music industry, born out of the need to shed light on the issues facing the music industry, while simultaneously exploring solutions to creating sustainable career pathways in the creative sector. He explained that Vukubone was aimed at giving artists, music producers, artists\u2019 managers and record labels in Eswatini the capacity to successfully build a sustainable music career and maximise the monetisation of their craft.<\/p>\n

\u201c100 artists, music producers, artists managers and record label executives will be invited to take part in a three-day conference, August 25 to 27, made up of panel discussions, master classes and networking sessions with various music business professionals,\u201d he said. According to Hlanze the topics to be covered range from the role of intellectual property rights in music monetisation, how to empower women into leadership roles in the music industry, the challenges and opportunities for music in Eswatini, innovation in music, to mental health awareness and support in the music industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Eswatini, music and arts at large are often seen as a hobby for those who could not make it in school. However, music enhances the quality of life, comforts us in times of distress, inspires social change, but most importantly, music is a key component in driving economic growth. Vukubone is our contribution towards positioning our artists and Eswatini to stake its claim in the thriving global creative economy.<\/p>\n
