Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Thousands of protestors marched to the Ministry of Education and the Police Headquarters on Monday morning in support of the persecuted President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) Mbongwa Dlamini.<\/b><\/p>\n

This comes after the SNAT President endorsed an order issued by the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF), an underground movement intensifying the calls for democratic reforms in eSwatini.<\/p>\n

The SISF had ordered all schools to shutdown to pave way for an operation, SNAT subsequently advised teachers to stay at home for security reasons.<\/p>\n

Dlamini was subsequently summoned by the National Commissioner of Police William Dlamini and the Minstry of Education slapped him with a letter of complaint directing him to show cause why he should not be charged for misconduct.<\/p>\n

Addressing the protestors on Monday at the Ministry of Education, Bheki Mamba, the President of the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland(TUCOSWA)described the persecution of the SNAT President as union bashing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe International Labour Organization(ILO) is coming here and we will report this persecution of the SNAT President to the international organization,\u201d said the TUCOSWA President.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Police subsequently shot the protestors with live ammunitions as they marched peacefully to the Police Headquarters passing through the Correctional Services offices.<\/p>\n
