Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The country\u2019s big three clubs; Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders and Manzini Wanderers have recorded the highest number of fines during the previous MTN Premier League campaign.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is according to the Premier League of Eswatini 2021\/22 Annual Activity Report, which indicates that the red and white glamour side were fined E120 000 after they appeared six times before the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC) last season.<\/p>\n

Swallows were followed by their traditional rivals Highlanders who were fined E97 000 after recording five separate cases.<\/p>\n

Wanderers is third on the list with a total of E30 000 fine after making two appearances before the DC.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the prevailing causes of misconduct observed during the 2021\/22 season is the prevailing belief in muti to influence the results of a match.<\/p>\n

\u201cPLE member clubs have been observed engaging in a variety of misconduct such as pouring of liquids, sprinkling of powders and salt and a variety of actions supposedly for invoking super natural forces to help member clubs to win, which is another common misconduct that most members have been persecuted for.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis bad behavior is not good as it constitutes a breach of Fair Play,\u201d reads the report.<\/p>\n

Swallows Governor Andreas Lukhele could not be drawn for comment on the matter after his cellphone rang unanswered when tried yesterday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Highlanders Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Clement Dlamini said they were currently capacitating their supporters against violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have started capacitating our supporters about violence in stadiums because it\u2019s costing the team a lot of money. We are confident that we will have no fines next season,\u201d he said. Wanderers General Manager Mlungisi \u2018Mluga\u2019 Ndzinisa said they were in a process of finding ways of curbing violence.<\/p>\n

“We will deal with the individuals who are costing us. We know them as they appear in the match officials\u2019 reports. We will come up with a new strategy to curb violence in the new season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
