Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>GREEN Mamba are said to be making frantic efforts to lure another Mbabane Highlanders\u2019 star player Xolani \u2018Papi\u2019 Sikhondze into their camp.
\n<\/b>
\nThe former Desportivo de Maputo player is said to have left the capital city giants a week ago due to contractual issues after making his last appearance for the \u2018Black Bull\u2019 during the recent Bible Society Cup.<\/p>\n

If the deal goes through, Sikhondze is expected to unite with former Highlanders\u2019 captain Sabelo \u2018Sikhali\u2019 Ndzinisa at the Correctional Services outfit, a club coached by Ernest Mavuso and Sandile Lulane.<\/p>\n

He is set to become the fourth major signing for the green and white ensemble after \u2018Sikhali\u2019, Njabulo \u2018D4D\u2019 Ndlovu (Mbabane Swallows) and Mthunzi \u2018Chippa\u2019 Motsa (Wanderers).<\/p>\n

A source within the Matsapha based outfit revealed that Sikhondze started training with \u2018Inyoka Eluhlazana\u2019 yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cPapi\u2019 is set to join Green Mamba as he is already training with them. They are expected to finalise negotiations before the end of the week. He has been identified as an ideal candidate to stabilise the team\u2019s midfield,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

Highlanders\u2019 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Clement Dlamini said he was unaware of these developments. \u201cI\u2019m yet to get a report from the manager, otherwise we have signed new players who were unveiled by the MD on Tuesday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, his Green Mamba counterpart Mandla Sibiya could not be drawn for comment on the matter as his cellphone rang unanswered when tried yesterday.<\/p>\n

Other players who have left Highlanders are Nkosinathi \u2018Smally\u2019 Fakude, Lindokuhle \u2018Ntolo\u2019 Fakudze, Menzi Mamba, Ndumiso \u2018Tower\u2019 Ndaba and Mlamuli \u2018Mlaba\u2019 Nkambule.<\/p>\n
