Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Triland Familiarisation Tour which took place between 15 to 20 August, revealed some of the world class bucket list destinations along the Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Mozambique route.<\/b><\/p>\n

The tour marked the first activity since the signing of the Triland MoU between the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), Mpumalanga Tourism & Parks Agency (MTPA) and the Mozambique Tourism Authority (INATUR).<\/p>\n

Triland is an initiative entered into between the three entities with the aim to promote the region as a tourist, trade and investment destination.<\/p>\n

Collectively, Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Mozambique have revived this initiative with the goal of promoting its unique selling points nature in Mpumalanga, culture in Eswatini and the sea as well as white sandy beaches in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The familiarisation tour was an opportunity to uncover some of the hidden gems that tourists can indulge in Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Mozamabique.<\/p>\n

Each country hosted a delegation of CEOs, tour operators and members of the media from the partnering countries for two nights. Tour operators were introduced to the diverse tourism products and unique experiences that they can package as a destination for tourists in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n

The itinerary for the Triland Familiarisation Tour was robust and insightful. And with the spirit of collaboration at the centre of the agreement and the tour, each country hosted networking events in the respective countries so that tour operators are able to engage each other and members of tourism establishments for a seamless working relationship and information sharing.<\/p>\n

During her address at the Mpumalanga Gala Dinner on the last day of the tour, the chief executive officer of ETA praised the success of the tour and collaboration among all three countries as well members of the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tour has shown us all that there are experiences for everyone and different age groups along the route.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to the dynamic packages that the tour operators will prepare for regional and international tourists so that they experience Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Mozambique as a destination,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the six-day excursion, tour operator and owner of Total Experience Tours, Thulani Yende affirmed the educational nature of the tour and commended the carefully-curated itinerary as it gave tour operators an opportunity to think creatively when designing packages on the route.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d like to express our appreciation for the Triland Familiarisation Tour for opening our eyes to various tourism products and experiences that we can package for tourists. We are definitely in a much better position to sell the Eswatini, Mpumalanga and Mozamabique route and we look forward to bringing in more visitors to explore it,\u201d said Yende.<\/p>\n
