Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Dr Siphetfo Dlamini,the Secretary General of the Swaziland Liberation Movement (SWALIMO) says eSwatini is the only country in the world with a Head of State who is above Constitution.<\/p>\n

This comes after the Times of Eswatini Sunday published a story suggesting that all Judges were loyal to King Mswati.<\/p>\n

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, the SWALIMO Secretary General said it was unheard of that a Head of State could have full control of the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

“Eswatini is the only country in the world with Head of State who is above the Constitution.It’s unheard of that a Head of a State can have control over the Judiciary, Swazis need to unite and fight for democracy where all people would be equal before the law\u201d,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

A questionnaire was sent to Thabile Mdluli, the Deputy Government Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Reached for comments Colani Hlatjwako, the One Billion Rising Africa Coordinator said all people were equal before the law adding that the courts should not be selective but should work without limitations.<\/p>\n

“This is to eliminate opportunitists who would manipulate the courts in their favour. Currently we have people who have seen their cases vanishing into thin air just because there are people who are manipulating the justice system.People will now resort to other illegal means in order to get justice\u201d,said the Coordinator<\/p>\n

Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch and has control over the Legislative,Judiciary and Executive.<\/p>\n
