Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Patients were left stranded at the Mbabane Government Hospital on Thursday as health workers continued with their protest over the shortage of drugs.<\/b><\/p>\n

The protests that are normally staged during lunch hours started on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

But apart from the shortage of drugs, the protests were triggered by the firing of teargas canisters inside the Mbabane Government Hospital by the police last Friday during a jobs and scholarships for all protest by University students.<\/p>\n

Reached for comments earlier, Welcome Mdluli, the President of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union(SWADNU) confirmed the protest adding that nurses were not happy after the teargas affected their patients.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe firing of the teargas inside the hospital forms part of the grievances, nurses are complaining that this affected their patients.There are many other issues within the hospital that need to be addressed, unfortunately, I am from a meeting now and will update on their complaints later,\u201d said the Nurses Union President.<\/p>\n

A questionnaire was sent to Health Minister Lizzie Nkosi, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Police fired teargas inside the Mbabane Government Hospital on Friday during a protest by University students in demand for jobs and scholarships for all.<\/p>\n
