Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Extreme temperatures caused by a heat wave that hit the country will last until tomorrow.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the weather forecast temperatures have been soaring in Eswatini over the past week.<\/p>\n

A heat wave is a period of excessively hot weather, which may be accompanied by high humidity, especially in oceanic climate countries. It is usually measured by the climate of that area and relative to normal temperatures for the season.<\/p>\n

Weather forecasters have issued weather advisory that several parts of South Africa covering Eswatini could experience another heat wave this week, which started yesterday.<\/p>\n

This comes after a heave wave that hit the country last Friday, which resulted to temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius at Moti.<\/p>\n

This was due to the support of winds. Temperatures shot to an 46 degrees Celsius, which was the highest ever recorded in the country in October.<\/p>\n

In South Africa the highest temperature in October was 43.7 degrees Celsius at Komatidraai.<\/p>\n

Weather forecasts yesterday indicated that temperatures are likely to hit over 40 degrees Celsius in the Lowveld. Today it is expected to be sunny with cloud patches in the Highveld while clear skies are expected in the Lowveld. Temperatures are likely to reach 39 degrees Celsius in the Lowveld.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow the last day of the heat wave temperatures will exceed 40 degrees Celsius but it will be mostly cloudy but very humid in the Highveld. Temperatures will drop on Saturday, making the end of the heat wave that hit the country from Sunday.<\/p>\n

According to IPCC, heat waves have become more frequent, and over land more intense, almost everywhere due to climate change.<\/p>\n

Heat waves often have complex effects on human economies, due to less productivity of workers, disruption of agricultural and industrial processes and damage to infrastructure not adaptive to extreme heat.<\/p>\n
