Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Aggrieved police officers say they will defy any order stopping their march to the Prime Minister\u2019s Office tomorrow.<\/b><\/p>\n

The officers then warned Judges and Magistrates to stop being used and interfere in their demand for a salary increment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware that the Executive Command is working with the Attorney General(AG) as we speak to try and stop tomorrow\u2019s protest through a court order. Nothing will stop our march tomorrow and we will defy any court order that seeks to interfere with our rights to demand a salary increment. Sicela eMajaji angayingeni lendzaba lena ngoba nabo bangatikhandza sebalimala, we want our money and we will get it ,\u201d said one of the officers.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, some of the police officers who marched to the Prime Minister\u2019s Office last week were summoned to the Police Headquarters as part of intimidation tactics.<\/p>\n

A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Reached for comments, Seargent Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Police Staff Association confirmed that the police would march again on Tuesday morning but declined not to share further comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease contact me later about the matter,I can\u2019t talk now,\u201d said the Police Staff Association Secretary General.<\/p>\n

Junior police officers are demanding a salary increment from Mswati\u2019s Government, over R100million that was budgeted for the officers under Phase Two(2) was allegedly looted by members of the Police Executive Command.<\/p>\n

The senior officers created over twenty(20) Deputy and Assistant Commissioners posts and subsequently shared the money among themselves by increasing their salaries.<\/p>\n

Before looting the money, the senior officers falsely convinced Mswati that with the various positions that are now redundant, they were benchmarking with the Southern African Development Community(SADC).<\/p>\n
