Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Senior police officers camped outside the High Court on Tuesday morning waiting to stop a protest march by junior police officers.<\/b><\/p>\n

The junior cops are expected to march to the Prime Minister\u2019s office to collect responses, they are demanding a salary increment under Phase Two(2).<\/p>\n

Pigg\u2019s Peak police officer Busta Vilakati was grabbed by a group of senior police officers upon arrival to meet other officers, he is currently detained at the Police Headquarters in Mbabane.<\/p>\n

Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

On Monday night, the office of the National Commissioner through the Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo rushed to the High Court and obtained a court order interdicting the officers from protesting.<\/p>\n

\u201cInterdicting the Respondents staff associations members or anyone acting at the behest of the said staff association from engaging in any form of a march or strike action on the 18 October or any other future date,\u201d reads the court order in part.<\/p>\n

But the officers told this publication on Monday that they would defy any court order that sought to stop them from protesting.<\/p>\n

Political tension is escalating in this tiny Kingdom of eSwatini, police officers are protesting demanding a salary increment at the time when the country is facing a looming second wave of the political unrest.<\/p>\n
