Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson has urged Hosea residents not to boycott the coming elections because if they do so, the minority would vote and form a Government.<\/b><\/p>\n

Responding to our questionnaire on Saturday evening, after the press published an article regarding a decision by Hosea residents to boycott elections, the Government Spokesperson said eSwatini was not in a political crisis that could stop elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere world over it is a right of an individual to vote or not to vote during elections.It is absolutely a no offense for any individual or community that decides not to exercise the right to vote.However,one may take this opportunity to urge the Hosea residents not to deny themselves the right and opportunity to express their respective citizen’s responsibility to participate in forming the next Government. This is so important because irrespective of whether or not a Government was elected by a minority of citizenry, it will govern nonetheless”,said the Government Spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a Community Dialogue at Hosea on Saturday,the MSF Chairperson Thulani Maseko applauded the residents for declaring not to participate in Tinkhundla elections under the current political crisis.<\/p>\n

“As the Hosea residents, you have declared today that there will be no elections until our incarcerated Members of Parliament (MPs) and all political prisoners are released.We are not filling any gaps here,”said the MSF Chairperson.<\/p>\n

Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers, political parties are banned from participating in elections.<\/p>\n
