Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Busie Mayisela, the Chairperson of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) said she refused to keep quiet and enjoy a luxury life while a majority of Swazis were poor.<\/p>\n

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday, the well-known businesswoman said while in business, she learned that many Swazis were struggling and unemployed.<\/p>\n

She said even though she was aware of the challenges facing the citizens, she decided to be active in fighting for democracy after the government killed innocent citizens merely for demanding democratic reforms.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a woman you cannot keep quiet while people are being killed because you know the pain of bringing a human being to earth. I decided to leave everything and fight until democracy is achieved\u201d,she said.<\/p>\n

The SWALIMO Chairperson urged other women and businesspeople to stand-up and fight for democracy, adding that some businesspeople were struggling because the government was grabbing everything through taxes that were never accounted for.<\/p>\n

Eswatini is a tiny Kingdom situated in Southern Africa and ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch.<\/p>\n

The country has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line, political parties are banned from participating in elections.<\/p>\n
