Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) Chief Executive Officer Maxwell Jele and the Russian Boxing Federation (RBF) yesterday put pen to paper on a 12-month agreement for top boxer Thabiso Dlamini.<\/b><\/p>\n

The signing of the cooperation of agreement between EOCGA and the Russian Boxing Federation was done by Jele and RBF General Secretary, Tatiana Kirienko.<\/p>\n

Dlamini, who has wasted no time in starting training on his attachment, promised good results in the future.<\/p>\n

Jele announced that the agreement was now in black and white.<\/p>\n

International Boxing Association (IBA) President Uma Kremlev facilitated the sponsorship for the four-time Commonwealth Games participant alongside EOCGA board member Pearl Dlamini.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have settled quite well and already done two sessions per day,\u201d the boxer said on Wednesday. Jele broke the news last week that through the efforts of board member, Pearl Dlamini and himself, they had secured a one-year training scholarship for Dlamini to train at a top boxing facility in Russia.<\/p>\n

“This sponsorship has been issued by the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Uma Kremlev in his personal capacity,\u201d Jele said.<\/p>\n

The boxer was also at the recently held Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Jele and Dlamini, the former Eswatini Boxing Association president, are in Moscow to ensure the boxer settles well and facilitate the signing of the formal agreement, which spelled out all the modalities of the sponsorship.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an important step towards preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. As we announced recently, our intention is to secure such opportunities for all our top athletes.<\/p>\n

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation to the president of IBA and the Russian Boxing Federation for this opportunity,\u201d Jele added.<\/p>\n

He further utilised the opportunity to meet and engage with the Russian Olympic Committee to explore possible partnership in the development of athletes.<\/p>\n
