Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Jabulani Mabuza,the Acting Minister of Natural Resources and Energy met with his Mozambican counterpart Carlos Alberto Fortes Mesquita, to strengthen cooperation between the two countries on matters of shared river basins. <\/b><\/p>\n

According eSwatini Government online report published on Thursday afternoon,the Mozambican Natural Resources Ministry who is in the country with a delegation toured strategic water infrastructure and further discussed matters of solidifying the relation that exists between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cooperation between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Mozambique has a long history of over 45 years of strong relations and good neighbourliness dating even beyond the year 1976 when the Umbeluzi Agreement was signed by Ministers responsible for water in the two countries.The cooperation of our counties on water issues is closely related and linked to the sharing of the water resources of Umbeluzi River. This is a very unique and important river for all of here present in that it supplies water to the capital cities of both countries,\u201d said the Acting Natural Resources Minister Jabulani Mabuza as quoted by eSwatini Government online platforms.<\/p>\n

On another note, Mozambican Natural Resources Minister Mesquita said the relations between Mozambique and Eswatini transcend the mere sharing of borders adding that the people share socio-cultural, linguistic and brotherhood values.<\/p>\n
