Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>No one saw it coming but Nkululeko Mthethwa \u2018Kole Salamanca\u2019 and Nhlanhla Maziya \u2018Bob Mfaniseni\u2019 known as The Other Guys are rising to the occasion and taking up space in the deejaying scenes.<\/b><\/p>\n

The new and upcoming duo will soon be taking over the decks.<\/p>\n

Hailing from the bustling city of the Kingdom of Eswatini known as Manzini, the deep house duo, The Other Guys, have been friends for almost two decades now.<\/p>\n

They first met in 2005 while attending Hillside Primary School when Bob joined the school in Grade V. They instantly became friends because of their shared love for music and the arts as a whole.<\/p>\n

The Other Guys story is different from most, they never actually imagined themselves beings DJs and taking it seriously. This duo started spinning because they always hanged around DJs, hence the name \u2018Other Guys\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes we would be the only ones who are not DJs. People would literally say they are hanging out with so and so, naming the DJs, then say \u2018and some other guys\u2019\u201d, Bob commented.<\/p>\n

Kole\u2019s big brother, the legendary DJ Macdeep, would invite them to chill out sessions and they would notice that some DJs would be late or not show up, therefore, a filler would be needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe basically started deejaying because we wanted to fill those spots of DJs that did not show up.<\/p>\n

We love music but honestly, we did not envision ourselves here. It happened by chance. Now that we have started our deejaying careers, we are determined to be the best at this as we are always the best at everything we do,\u201d Kole said. DJ Forbes from Forbes School for Deejays, their lecturer, said; \u201cThe Other Guys are one duo that has so much potential to take over the entertainment industry in the country with their diverse and groovy selection.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir determination and drive fairly proves that they want this and they will definitely get it. I can put my money on The Other Guys that in the next five years, there will be so much development in them as a deejaying duo.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Other Guys are currently taking advanced DJ classes with Capital Groove in Pretoria. Within the short space they have been in the industry, they have secured residency with Underground on Demand, an underground music initiative that tours Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries.<\/p>\n

They can be found dishing tunes every Sunday at Ekhayeni Chillaz for the \u2018Beats and Bass Sunday\u2019 sessions. The Other Guys are also working on a deep house EP with the talented Andrea J, it will be released under +268 Recordings in 2023.<\/p>\n

Apart from being The Other Guys, Kole and Bob are working together in other projects such as thirty2B magazine and Talkism Podcast.<\/p>\n
