Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>A member of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) allegedly shot two(2) police officers during a roadblock at Mkhondvo on Monday morning, the officers were subsequently rushed to Luke Commission Health Facility.<\/b><\/p>\n

Evidence in our possession suggests that officers Sivesonkhe Magongo suffered minor injuries on the right leg while Sithembile Sikhosana was shot on the right femur.<\/p>\n

It could not be ascertained whether the shooting was mistakenly or intentional as tension continue to escalate between soldiers and police officers.<\/p>\n

A questionnaire was sent to Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo, the Army Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest as calls for democratic reforms intensify.<\/p>\n

Soldiers and police officers are staging roadblocks across the country in an effort to mitigate the movement of members of the Underground Forces.<\/p>\n
