The randomly interviewed elderly highlighted they were able to get their groceries on time as soon their grants were paid out.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thankful to the DPM for always prioritising us, there were issues at first but as of last week we have been receiving our grants. December is crucial for me because I\u2019m the bread winner,\u201d said Nomathemba Simelane an elderly at Lobamba.<\/p>\n

Echoing her sentiments was Idah Bhembe from Ezulwini Gelekeceni. She said as soon as she received her grant via MOMO pay, her Christmas spirit kicked in.<\/p>\n

Bhembe made mention of how she was all over town taking advantage of the sales and specials in some of the shops in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was happy to receive my grant during the hype of the Christmas shopping, now we are in a cheerful mood and ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus our saviour,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Worth noting is that despite the few glitches experienced by the office in processing the elderly\u2019s grants they were able to act swiftly and save the day.<\/p>\n

When told about the warm sentiments from the elderly, DMPO\u2019s Communications Officer Mihla Khumalo said theirs was to make sure the elderly is catered for.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they are happy, we are happy. Remember, our mandate is to make sure our service delivery in this regard is impeccable. It warms our hearts to receive such feedback,\u201d said Khumalo.<\/p>\n

In addition, he warned the elderly in the country to be on the lookout for scammers.<\/p>\n
