Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Senator Themba Masuku, the Deputy Prime Minister held a urgent press conference on Wednesday afternoon after members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) invaded Zibonele MfelaNgubo Army Camp on Tuesday night, shot and killed King Mswati\u2019s soldiers. <\/b><\/p>\n

Masuku, who was the Acting Prime Minister during the shooting and killing of dozens of civilians in June 2021,confirmed that the Army Camp was invaded by attackers but said, they were repelled by the soldiers.<\/p>\n

The soldiers were allegedly killed in retaliation, after King Mswati and his Tinkhundla government unleashed the army to shoot and kill dozens of civilians for demanding democratic reforms.<\/p>\n

The shooting and killing of the soldiers on Tuesday evening was confirmed by the Commander of the Solidarity Forces, live audio recordings of the shooting were subsequently released.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are engaged in an ongoing operation that is exclusively targeting Mswati\u2019s soldiers, who have been on the streets the past weeks brutalizing our people in a manner never witnessed before.This is, over and above that, we have always been aware that the army is among those who played a very major destructive role in the massacre of our people last year. Now that we have brought some resemblance or discipline on the police,we are now on a campaign to do same with soldiers and the OSSU is also on our horizon. We will continue to attack them with the intention of doing what they are doing to our civilians, which is killing them,\u201d said the Commander of the Solidarity Forces.<\/p>\n

On another note, the Deputy Prime Minister said the people behind the ongoing attacks were destroying the economy.<\/p>\n

This comes after two weeks after the DPM thanked security officers for shooting protestors on the 15th November 2022 during the \u201crelease pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube protest march\u201d,<\/p>\n

The DPM said by being shot, Swazis learnt a lesson not to take orders from faceless people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people behind the arson attacks are destroying the economy at a time when there is a great need to create employment. The Government is on a job creation drive. When there is unrest, arson and disorder, jobs are lost and at the same time, not created.This is hurting to those who are directly or indirectly affected including the economy,\u201d\u2018said the Deputy Prime Minister when speaking during the press conference.<\/p>\n
