Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Eswatini is among the top five countries that have administered over 100 000 COVID-19 vaccines doses in the African Region as of October 30 till to date.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is according to a monthly documented report by World Health Organisation (WHO) published this week. The report revealed that Eswatini is in the top five countries that have managed to administer doses.<\/p>\n

Among the countries are Angola, Comoros, Botswana and Lesotho who have over 100 000 doses administered.<\/p>\n

In a table format report it was revealed that Eswatini has administered 138 907 doses to children. The percentage of doses administered for Eswatini is 18 per cent.<\/p>\n

Worth noting is that according to the WHO weekly report in the country 1102 069 doses have been administered countrywide.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the Ministry of Health\u2019s daily COVID-19 reports that fully vaccinated people in the country as of today are 411 983 which is 35 per cent of the population.<\/p>\n

This means partially vaccinated people in the country are at an 8.1 per cent. Ministry of Health Principal Secretary (PS) Simon Zwane when reached for a comment about the numbers said they were impressed as a ministry to be among countries that are taking steps to fight COVID-19.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople seem to have forgotten that COVID-19 is still here, we need to do all it takes to make sure we are safe. It is good to hear that parents are getting their children vaccinated may they continue spreading the word of vaccinating to others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

A nurse found at one of the vaccination spots around town said they vaccinate number children of the weekend. She further mentioned that parents had finally warmed up to the idea of getting their children vaccinated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gets busy during weekends where children are with their parents and we vaccinate them. Some you find that are pupils on their way back from school they come for vaccination,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
