Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>In what would come as a shock for Mbabane Swallows supporters, the capital city giants have parted ways with their assistant coach Siyabonga Bhembe.<\/b><\/p>\n

Well-informed sources within the Birds revealed that the hard-working coach\u2019s contract was terminated yesterday after management cited poor performance.<\/p>\n

Bhembe\u2019s letter was reportedly signed by new PLE governor Sebenele Nhlengetfwa.<\/p>\n

Bhembe re-joined the club last season from traditional arch- rivals Mbabane Highlanders.<\/p>\n

He led the team to position three alongside Musa Manyatsi after a prior sluggish performance.<\/p>\n

“Bhembe has been relieved of his duties after the incoming coach stated that he won\u2019t feel comfortable working with him. You can also contact him to confirm this,” said the source.<\/p>\n

Bhembe was reluctant to open up about his fate at Swallows when reached for comment.<\/p>\n

“Who told you? As you seem to be aware of the matter, yes I can confirm that they\u2019ve terminated my contract. I’m still shocked given the fact that we’ve lost only twice this season. If the incoming coach doesn\u2019t want me, it\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n

That’s not the end of the road for me. Thanks to the president of this great club to for giving me the opportunity. To the Mbabane Swallows fans, I don\u2019t know where I should start, but I will always miss them. Thanks for the support, my heart will always be with the team,” he said.<\/p>\n

The former Sihlangu Semnikati physical trainer added that he would wait for the president of the club to communicate further instructions to him.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Swallows General Manager Sandile \u2018Beyond 2000\u2019 Zwane refuted the claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing like that as we haven\u2019t parted ways with any coach, not when we are still looking at ways of improving the team,\u201d Zwane said.<\/p>\n

Bhembe boasts vast experience in coaching, served as senior national team Sihlangu\u2019s physical trainer, and also coached the now- defunct South Africa\u2019s National First Division side, Mbombela United.<\/p>\n

The outspoken coach was also part of the invincible Swallows team that reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League under the leadership of the later shrewd businessman Victor \u2018Maradona\u2019 Gamedze.<\/p>\n

Swallows went on to attain 52-league games unbeaten record at the time.<\/p>\n
