Therefore, MTN Premier League teams took a firm stand and have strongly warned players about playing in stokvels (social games) during the Christmas break.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Premier and National First Division Leagues took a break to give way for the festive holidays,which was further stretched as the Premier League of Eswatini announced the postponement of league matches to address concerns pertaining match organisation following the chaos that recently erupted during league games.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur players are strictly not allowed<\/p>\n

to participate in any stokvels, even though they can go and attend in their respective communities to offer support if they choose to,\u201d said Royal Leopards Chief Executive Officer Frank Hurube.<\/p>\n

Urged<\/b><\/p>\n

Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile \u2018Beyond 2 000\u2019Zwane reiterated Hurube\u2019s sentiments, and urged players to be on their best behaviour during the holidays. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of one day tournaments that take place, but we urge our players to not participate because they risk getting injured and costing the team,\u201d said Zwane, adding that theywere looking forward to the resumption of the league. \u201cWe wish our fans the merriest of holidays, and promise towork harder when we get back next year,\u201d assured Zwane.<\/p>\n

Denver Sundowns CEO Elvis Dube said the team\u2019s management had a meeting with the players and made clear the<\/p>\n

consequences they stand to suffer if they break the rules. Hub giants Manzini Wanderers Public Relations Officer Lucky \u2018Majayivane\u2019 Dlamini said the teamhad also warned their players about stokvels. \u201cOur players know that they are not allowed to play in stokvels as the league will resume andwewant everyone back healthy and fit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
