Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>MTN Premier League log leaders Young Buffaloes are strongly linked with elite rookies Madlenya\u2019s prolific forward Njabulo Maziya.<\/b><\/p>\n

Maziya is the current leading top goal scorer in the league with nine goals in 10 games. Impeccable sources have said the player had in principle agreed to join the army team because of an opportunity of being recruited into the army. \u201cThey held talks with Njabulo somewhere in Manzini and it seems he\u2019s on his way; after all he has been interested in getting the army job for some time now,\u201d a source said. The source also said Buffaloes intended signing the forward when the second window period opens on January 16 (next Monday), just after this week. The army side have notably been in the market for a striker and it seems Maziya has been identified as at least one they hope to bring on board.<\/p>\n

Intentions<\/b><\/p>\n

A source close to the team, who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the striker\u2019s father, Frank Maziya, was called on Thursday afternoon, whereby the Amathole Ezinyathi made their intentions known about his son. \u201cThe player engaged in talks with Buffaloes officials in Manzini on Thursday where he agreed to join them on condition he gets hired in the army,\u201d said the source. The Lubombo-based Madlenya forward is 28 years old and has been the best thing to ever happen for Madlenya in the maiden elite season.<\/p>\n

Good<\/b><\/p>\n

Efforts to get Buffaloes coach Mandla \u2018Stofu\u2019 Dlamini to hear his view about the striker proved futile but Maziya has proven he would be a good addition to the side chasing the league title and currently leading the first round E100 000 leaders\u2019 incentive race. Maziya asked not to comment when reached, while Buffaloes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Gwebu denied they had any links with the forward. \u201cThe news that we want to sign Njabulo for the next transfer window, which opens next week are not true,\u201d he said before cutting the call short. The army team is not alone on the pursuit of the forward as Moneni Pirates have reportedly also shown strong interest in the player.<\/p>\n

Conceded<\/b><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Maziya\u2019s team, under the guidance of William Gamedze have conceded 14 goals in 10 games this season. They sit on position seven and six points behind Buffaloes with three games before the first round ends. Madlenya\u2019s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nokwazi Gamedze could not be drawn for comment after her cellphone rang unanswered when called yesterday.<\/p>\n
