Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>King Mswati\u2019s refusal to adhere to democratic principles of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) by avoiding a political dialogue amid tension in this tiny Kingdom has been cited in a report released by the Human Rights Watch(WRW).<\/b><\/p>\n

Mswati,an absolute Monarch with Executive,Judicial and Legislative powers has been accused by various international organizations of violating human rights to hold on to power.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing the SADC fact-finding missions to Eswatini in 2021, King Mswati had agreed to hold a national dialogue, which has yet to take place.In April, the King removed Eswatini from the agenda of the SADC Organ\u2019s Troika meeting where the national dialogue was supposed to be discussed.The July SADC extraordinary summit was postponed without further notice, due to the unavailability of Eswatini, which was on the agenda,according to media reports,\u201d reads a report released by the Human Rights Watch on Thursday.<\/p>\n

In June 2021,Mswati allegedly unleashed his soldiers to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democracy.<\/p>\n

The subsequently issued an order to arrest three pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, Mthandeni Dube and Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane who were leading calls for democracy inside Parliament.<\/p>\n
