Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Two companies have been enlisted as the best evaluated tenderers to be awarded an Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) tender.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was revealed by the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA) on their website. EEC was looking for a contractor to repair their 11kv transformers and the company enlisted Summertime (Pty) LTD and ACDC Eswatini (Pty) LTD as favourites for the tender.<\/p>\n

Published<\/p>\n

The intention to award the company was published on Friday and they are expected to begin executing it after a period of 10 working days, should they not be contested. The proposed contract price was E235 838.97 for Summertime (Pty) LTD and E245 860.77 for ACDC Eswatini (Pty) LTD. Summertime (Pty) LTD scored 82.98 per cent when evaluated, while ACDC Eswatini (Pty) LTD attained 80.58 per cent. EEC spent over 42.653 million in construction and upgrading the Pigg\u2019s Peak Substation. The budget for the project was E41.8 million according to EEC\u2019s tariff review application. The electricity company spent an excess of E1 million on the project, which is currently being upgraded. It was not stated in the document which firm was procured to provide services for the project.<\/p>\n

Competing<\/p>\n

The two companies were competing with Backor Group (Pty) LTD and CYB-SAB (Pty) LTD for the tender. The total evaluated score for the above mentioned companies were revealed in the tender document and it was indicated that CYB-SAB (Pty) LTD scored below 65 per cent for the tender. Backor Group (Pty) LTD scored 78.47 per cent, thus making Summertime (Pty) LTD and ACDC Eswatini (Pty) LTD favourites for the tender.<\/p>\n

Approved<\/p>\n

EEC was the procuring entity for the tender, which was approved by the authority of the board. ESPPRA requested the unsuccessful bidder to submit an application for review with the agency within 10 working days. \u201cAll tenderers which submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed for submission of any application for review,\u201d said ESPPRA. The agency also mentioned that the tender did not constitute a contract.<\/p>\n
