Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Busie Mayisela, the President of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) says King Mswati\u2019s Government cannot be trusted with investigating human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko\u2019s assassination.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the Voice of America(VOA) on Tuesday, the SFDF President alleged that Government was suspected to have killed Maseko hence the need for an independent investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not confident that the Swaziland Government is capable of investigating itself, because we really believe they have a hand in the death of Thulani Maseko. So having them do the investigation we think it\u2019s going to be compromised. So, we are hoping that SADC or an international body is going to help get an independent investigator on the issue. Otherwise, we are not confident that we are going to get a fair investigation on this one if it\u2019s done by Government,\u201d said the SFDF President.<\/p>\n

The political activist was interviewed by the VOA while attending the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Troika Summit to lobby Heads of State and pro-democracy groups in Namibia to take action against Mswati and his oppressive Government.<\/p>\n

On another note,King\u2019s Spokesperson Percy Simelane told the Mail and Guardian last week that in the absence of an investigation report, it was difficult to know who killed lawyer Thulani Maseko.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith intelligence still missing, we find it very difficult to know who exactly killed lawyer Thulani Maseko and why. Police are still investigating and we believe in the end the truth will prevail.At the moment, the information highway is jammed with speculation and insinuation on which we cannot professionally base our argument. We elect to wait for intelligence to be available,\u201d said Simelane.<\/p>\n
