By the time we reach the age where we can contribute to policy formulations we are used to being side-lined we find ourselves not contributing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernment and all stakeholders should include us in such initiative as we have an input to make. We can contribute more than the work we do with the Deputy Prime Minister\u2019s Office,\u201d said Mntungwa.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, we revealed that the Government of Eswatini and its partners are working around the clock for climate action.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-22628 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/eswatini\/sites\/33\/2023\/02\/postMediaimg_7_2-63f8f6a99160d.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/eswatini\/sites\/33\/2023\/02\/postMediaimg_7_2-63f8f6a99160d.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/eswatini\/sites\/33\/2023\/02\/postMediaimg_7_2-63f8f6a99160d-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With the world declaring the climate crisis a climate disaster, the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, through the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), is in the process of developing plans to improve climate change plans in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Khangeziwe Mabuza said there was an urgent need for climate action in the country. Mabuza was represented by the Ministry\u2019s Under Secretary Zwakele Dlamini.<\/p>\n<p>He said this this morning at Royal Villas in Ezulwini while opening the Adaptation Sectors workshop to finalize the NDC Implementation Plan and review of the Climate Change Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are gathered here to look at the draft NDC Implementation Plan and get inputs from you stakeholders to finalise this important document. The plan will help guide actions to achieve NDC measures and identify which institutions are responsible for the actions. This is a \u2018costed\u2019 action plan and some preliminary costs have been provided, which need your inputs to fill gaps and finalise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also here to review Eswatini\u2019s Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan, which was from 2016-2020. It\u2019s time to take stock of what we have achieved and what lessons we can learn to improve (sic),\u201d said the PS.
