Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Mgazini Chief Prince Sicunusa allegedly told members of the ruling Royal Household and residents in that area that anyone who challenged him would be evicted together with their children.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is contained in leaked electronic recordings of a meeting where the Chief stated categorically that he didn’t want to be questioned on issues of land.<\/p>\n

Prince Sicunusa stands accused of grabbing land from the poor and vulnerable and sell it to the rich and powerful.<\/p>\n

\u201cUve umuntfu atsi live liyaphela belilakho yini,lanikwa wena yini? Liphela lakho yini ngoba naliphela ukhona umnikati walo lotawutjelwa kutsi seliphelile(meaning: You hear someone saying the land is now depleted,is it yours? If the land gets depleted,its owner will be informed accordingly,\u201dsaid the Chief during the meeting.<\/p>\n

In the electronic recording,Chief Prince Sicunusa went on to threaten those who opposed him that he wouldn\u2019t allow them to bury their relatives in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t bury your relatives here.If you don\u2019t behave,once I say NO,I would be meaning it and my word is final.You will carry the dead body to Mangwaneni,I don\u2019t know if you will be assisted there because the space for graves is becoming scarce\u201d, said the Chief.<\/p>\n

Efforts to seek a comment from the Chief regarding this matter proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.<\/p>\n

On another note,a member of the Mgazini Royal Household told that Prince Scunusa was persecuting residents with impunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know what to do with this man,sometimes we plot evil things because of the situation.Even us as members of the royal household we are being persecuted,he is selling our land,\u201d said the member of the Mgazini umphakatsi.<\/p>\n
