Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Ngomyayona Gamedze,the former Senate Deputy President has advised journalist and Swati NewsWeek editor Eugene Dube to come back home as the State authorities will not attack him.<\/b><\/p>\n

Gamedze was responding to Dube\u2019s articles where he came hard on the former Senate Deputy President for indicating that he was available to stand for elections at Siphofaneni Inkhundla.<\/p>\n

Dube alleged that Gamedze has been in politics for many years but he has never raised a voice in Parliament about the issues of poverty at Siphofaneni.<\/p>\n

The journalist,in his opinion article published on the Swati NewsWeek felt Gamedze must stand for elections in another Constituency and give the current Member of Parliament(MP)Nomalungelo LaZwide Simelane a chance to be re-elected.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Gamedze\u2019s 15 years tenure, not once did he ever speak for the people of Sphofaneni who are grappling with hunger,starvation, water crisis and man-made poverty.I understand that he has now ‘repented\u2019 and joined the democracy train.But can he be trusted to defend the revolutionary seat at Siphofaneni? Trust him? I don’t think so.Both MP LaZwide and Comrade Ngomyayona are part of the democracy movement. If Gamedze has ‘khontaed\u2019 in another different Inkhundla Constituency, it would be wise to use that Constituency so that we increase the number of pro-democracy MPs in Mswati\u2019s Parliament.The same way Marwick did when he switched to Lobamba Lomdzala Constituency.It is heartbreaking to note that some of the comrades are plotting to remove La Zwide who is young and vibrant in Parliament,\u201dthe journalist wrote.<\/p>\n

But Gamedze said he was not new in politics hence he fully understood Dube\u2019s frustration including those who sent him to write and discourage him from standing for elections at Siphofaneni.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fully understand who sent him to write this,the article speaks for itself and it demonstrates frustration on those who sent him.But I can only advise Dube to come back home,no one wants to arrest him here because his writings have no impact at all in society.Ukhona umuntfu longatsi ubone timoto letimhlophe titihambela nje bese utsi ngemaphoyisa afuna yena,amfuna kutsi wenteni? Ngoba lomuntfu wake wahamba waphindze watibuyela.Bangatsi bamfuna woneni nje ngoba kute nalentfo layibhalako?” said the former Senate Deputy President.<\/p>\n

Gamedze is allegedly backed by among others,supporters of his late brother, former MP Gudvwane Gamedze to take over as Siphofaneni MP.<\/p>\n
