Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Chief Mlotjwa of KaLiba under Hosea Inkhundla has apologised for insulting pro-democracy women activists who are supporters of incarcerated Hosea Member of Parliament (MP)Bacede Mabuza.<\/b><\/p>\n

Political temperatures reached a boiling point at Hosea after the Chief insulted women who travelled to Mbabane to support their MP in his court case,MP Mabuza is facing politically motivated terrorism charges after calling for democratic reforms in Parliament.<\/p>\n

Addressing the residents on Saturday, the Chief said he didn’t mean to insult the women and was in deep regret.<\/p>\n

“I humbly ask for your forgiveness for this mistake. I’m still a child, you\u2019ll help me grow. May God comfort your hearts after all that has happened”,said the Chief.<\/p>\n

On or around March 2022, in a community meeting, Chief Mlotjwa came hard on junior women who attended protests at the High Court in Mbabane and asked their seniors to call them to order.<\/p>\n

“BoMake labadzala, boMakoti baKaLiba,khutani labomakotanyana benu, khutani labomakotanyana benu.Yati mine anginendzaba noma kungatsiwa lama-comrades ayeta atongibulala, ngeke ngiwente lutfo,akangibulale vele but vele lengikukhulumile kuyohlala kukhona enhlitiyweni (meaning:Senior married women here at KaLiba must call to order the junior married women.Im not afraid, even if the comrades can come and kill me,but what I have just said will stand”,he said.<\/p>\n

In that meeting,the Chief then described the protesting women as tilambi(poor hungry people) who pretended as if they supported MP Bacede yet they wanted his money.<\/p>\n

“Ninemanga nikhamisele imali yakhe, nentiwa yindlala (meaning: It’s not like you support him,you want his money, you are hungry,\u201dsaid the fuming Chief at the time.<\/p>\n
