Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Prime Minister Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku has mentioned that the Government of Eswatini and his office cannot wait for His Majesty King Mswati III\u2019s birthday next week.<\/b><\/p>\n

Masuku said next week was going to be a special day for the country because they will be celebrating the birth of His Majesty.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernment is also looking forward to His Majesty\u2019s 55th birthday next week as well as the 55th national Flag Day the following week, a day which is also important in our nationhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the day this country saw the lowering of the British union jack and the raising of the Eswatini flag signifying our total independence from the British colonial,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to that he congratulated Their Majesties on a successful Easter long weekend, where he said everyone must have been spiritually revived.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernment wishes to congratulate Their Majesties, the church and the entire Nation of this great kingdom for the hugely successful national Passover services held over the past long weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do hope and believe that emaSwati have been spiritually revived and are ready to tackle all and any challenges that may come their way as the year progresses,\u201d he said in addition.<\/p>\n

Worth noting is that this year, emaSwati will celebrate the 55\/55 double celebrations, His Majesty King Mswati III announced.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the official opening of the 5th session of the 11th Parliament on February 17, 2023 the King disclosed that this year the Kingdom of Eswatini shall have a double celebration of 55 years of independence and the 55th birthday of the monarch.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is gratifying to note that our monarchical democracy has evolved over the years. This is evidenced by the fact that the national elections held every fifth year are one of the most democratic,\u201d the King said.<\/p>\n

The King further stated that members of parliament carry the mandate and voice of the people since they are voted freely based on individual merit from their constituencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to the incoming members of parliament to carry on our national development agenda that seeks to elevate our country to a first-world status,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
