Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini has called out the continued burning of schools by unknown people as a plain criminal activity which cannot even be connected with any ideological direction.<\/p>\n

When addressing the media at KM III International Airport upon his return from attending the sixth AU-EU Summit, the prime minister noted that the burning of schools appeared to be continuing, something which he said was a senseless destruction being driven by plain criminals.<\/p>\n

\u201cLooking closer into the burning of schools, one realises that this was a criminal and unjustified act without any political ideological direction,\u201d he said. Dlamini said one wondered what political statement, if any, was being driven by those behind the burning of schools<\/p>\n

He noted that some of the schools which had been burnt were situated in the rural areas where a majority of the populace was living under poverty and would struggle to rebuild the schools.<\/p>\n

The premier said the burning of schools, therefore, appeared to be a plain criminal act without direction. He, therefore, condemned the act, adding that the law would take its course and ensure that those behind the burning of schools are arrested. Meanwhile, the prime minister also condemned acts of mob justice which had been experienced over the past weeks where some people were even killed. Dlamini said members of the public must desist from taking the law into their hands and end up killing each other. He noted that in some instances, some people would be accused of witchcraft and subsequently get killed by a group of other people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been instances where some people were killed for something that cannot even be proven such as witchcraft,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
