Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>His Majesty King Mswati III has returned to the country following his visit to London for the coronation of King Charles III which was held on Saturday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The King briefed the media on his trip soon after his arrival. He firstly congratulated the newly crowned King of the United Kingdom for a successful coronation, where His Majesty said they witnessed throngs of people from around the globe gathered for King Charles III\u2019s coronation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the time we arrived we witnessed throngs of people, from all over the globe going to the extent of sleeping on the streets awaiting the commencement of the coronation, which was a huge success,\u201d shared the King.<\/p>\n

His Majesty further recounted his meeting with the Commonwealth Secretariat where they discussed the need to reinforce last year\u2019s theme of \u201cDelivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming.\u201d<\/p>\n

This meeting mainly focused on the importance of the youth in the different Member States and how there was a need to cater to their welfare and address their impending issues, e.g., unemployment.<\/p>\n

The King said the visit to the UK was successful in that they were able to strengthen bilateral relations between the two Kingdoms which share a rich history. He further shared how the Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland reaffirmed her support for Eswatini.<\/p>\n

\u201cFocusing on youth was one of the pivotal points of discussion with the Commonwealth Secretariat, where we shared the necessity to elevate the funds already available for the youth, which in the country include the Youth Enterprise and Revolving Fund (YERF), the EYEP being facilitated by the United Nations Development Fund, as well as the various initiatives being propelled by the European Union,\u201d said the King.<\/p>\n
