Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>This is His Excellency the Right Honourable Prime Minister, Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, who barely two months after visiting Korea, has today, Thursday, May 25, 2023, received a courtesy visit from Republic of Korea Presidential Envoy Kim Byong-joon.<\/b><\/p>\n

Byong-joon is also the Chairperson of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).<\/p>\n

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli, among other issues discussed during the courtesy meeting were matters of mutual cooperation between the two countries and possible future collaboration in areas such as innovation and technology, smart agriculture, climate change mitigation, tourism, energy and skills transfer, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Presidential Envoy further lobbied for Eswatini\u2019s support in their bid to host the 2030 World Expo in the Port City of Busan.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Excellency the Prime Minister welcomed the Korean Presidential Envoy and his delegation to the Kingdom of Eswatini. He said Eswatini could learn a lot from the Republic of Korea, particularly in terms of smart agriculture and energy, adding that Eswatini could also benefit from some of the advanced industries from South Korea. He said the country could also benefit through exports, among other possible collaborations,\u201d explained Mdluli.<\/p>\n

Mdluli further explained that among the special Envoy\u2019s delegation were representatives of SK Corp, Korea Plant Industries Association (KOPIA) and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). \u201cSK Corp is the second largest conglomerate in Korea, after Samsung, whereas KOPIA deals with using locally adaptive technologies for agriculture. KOICA\u2019s mandate, meanwhile, is to support sustainable socio-economic development in developing countries.\u201d<\/p>\n
