Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>The Gone Rural BoMake project beat their 2018 record by selling out its merchandise in a matter of hours.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Bushfire merchandise they were selling sold out on Friday afternoon when the three-day festival had just commenced, they sold out over 1500 pieces.<\/p>\n

This was confirmed by the Director Siza Hlophe who said they were grateful for the support.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour purchase fires developmental progress for over 780 women and over 900 families in some of Eswatini\u2019s most remote communities.<\/p>\n

\u201c100 per cent of Bushfire merchandise profits are donated to boMake who use it to secure clean water for Gone Rural artisan communities, mobilise school education needs for the artisan\u2019s youth dependents, and facilitate sustainable livelihoods training for these groups and other community members,\u201d said Hlophe.<\/p>\n

She also mentioned that they had stocked up on limited editions only.<\/p>\n

Gone Rural is a Swazi handcraft company that set up boMake Rural Projects. They maintain a close relationship with their founding sister.<\/p>\n

\u201cA big thank you to Sholto Thorne, Pamela Carlson and Paul, who supported boMake by buying the MTN Bushfire gear at the Wildfire Fashion Show auction, held at Malandela\u2019s restaurant. We thank you for your belief in doing good. Profits made from sales of merchandise continue to make a positive change in the lives of different rural communities in Eswatini,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In addition, Hlopje said, to ignite change on a community level through ethical, handmade products. They began as one woman\u2019s vision to empower women in the most remote areas of Eswatini; it has grown to offer income to more than 780 rural women artisans.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the lutindzi grass of the mountains of Eswatini and the women leaders of rural communities, Gone Rural transforms the indigenous art of weaving into high-quality products that are showcased and loved all over the world.<\/p>\n
