Africa-Press – Eswatini. <\/strong><\/span>Zweli Martin Dlamini, the editor says the Tinkhundla system of governance disregard the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections within the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

The editor was speaking during an interview with the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) Channel Africa radio on Tuesday morning, he was asked to analyse the motive behind the government statement suggesting that the SADC Electoral Mission to eSwatini must be ignored.<\/p>\n

The editor who was interviewed by presenter Peter Ndoro, told SABC that political parties are banned from participating in elections, and the individuals elected across the Tinkhundla Centres are then forced to submit to the authority of the King<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tinkhundla elections allow the people to elect individuals across the country in what is known as Tinkhundla Centres. Those people, once they are elected, they then go to Parliament and the King then appoints a Prime Minister. But the Prime Minister is appointed from the Dlamini clan, not elected by the people. The way the Tinkhundla system was structured Peter, of course, once they are in Parliament, the MPs then submit to the authority of the King,\u201d said the editor.<\/p>\n
